An estate vehicle appraisal is a certified determination of a vehicle's fair market value as of a specific date - typically the date of the separation of property or an estate owner's passing - for use in probate court filings, estate tax returns, or equitable distribution of assets. A qualified appraiser reviews the vehicle's condition, mileage, market data, and comparable sales to produce a defensible written report. 

Not always. A remote appraisal using photos and documentation can satisfy many legal requirements. However, for vehicles where physical condition significantly affects value - such as older vehicles, high-mileage units, or vehicles with damage - an in-person inspection provides greater accuracy and stronger documentation for court proceedings. We can advise which approach is appropriate for your situation. 

Our estate vehicle appraisals are priced at $300–$500 and include a full market appraisal report, photos, and detailed inspection. Travel within Pierce County is complimentary. For locations outside Pierce County, hourly travel time rates apply — contact us before scheduling for a travel estimate. 

Yes. For probate and other legal proceedings that require it, we provide a formal legal appraisal report and a Curriculum Vitae documenting the appraiser's professional qualifications. These documents are designed to withstand scrutiny in court and support estate attorneys and executors in their filings. 

Yes. Remote appraisals are available statewide. Submit photos and required vehicle documents through our online form, and we'll prepare a certified market-value appraisal without requiring an in-person visit — ideal when the vehicle is in a distant county or when scheduling an in-person appointment is difficult.

We appraise most personal-use and collectible vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, and classic or antique vehicles. If you have a specialty vehicle or multiple vehicles in an estate, contact us to discuss the scope and pricing before submitting documents.
