Washington State Auto Insurance Appraisal Umpire Services

In the appraisal process, the role of the umpire is clear:  to review the differences between two competent appraisers and help bring the matter to a fair, supportable conclusion.  As a licensed Washington State Public Adjuster and I-CAR Platinum Certified Appraiser since 2017, I bridge 25 years of experience across insurance, collision repair, and vehicle appraisals, and have worked in nearly every role involved in determining vehicle repair and value. 

When appointed, I serve as a neutral decision-maker. My responsibility is not to either side, but to the process itself — and to ensuring the final determination reflects careful review, sound methodology, and professional judgment.  While the appraisal clause exists to resolve value disputes, its success is rooted in the expertise of experienced professionals applying informed judgment to real-world vehicle values, outside of automation.

Available for appointment by mutual agreement of the appraisers or pursuant to policy and Washington requirements to:.  

• Review both appraisal reports in full
• Evaluate supporting documentation
• Communicate with appraisers as needed for clarification
• Issue a written determination consistent with the appraisal clause

Umpire Fee: $650
